This museum is top notch, a fantastic starting point for discovering the diverse culture of Gabriola island. I was especially amused by the hippie exhibit, something I never expected to see in a museum. The staff is very helpful and informative and the museum has a good gift shop. There is a self guided garden walk of which a brochure can be found in the museum. Do come here before seeing the petroglyphs and take a photo of the petroglyphs sign so you can identify them upon viewing. The petroglyphs trail has one sign at the entrance and no identification points marked along the trail after that, it's like a treasure hunt which is fun in itself.
